The City of Luxembourg public library building is hosting internet facilities, reading areas, DVD’s and of course books.

integratedPlace has been asked to come up with a design concept that covers multiple areas such as interior design, signage & the identity for the building. As a result we have, amongst others, developed a unique furniture system for the internet area (photo above) and selected a range of furniture pieces to achieve a contemporary & coherent atmosphere while at the same time remain understated & timeless.

integratedPlace has been closely collaborating with London based architects Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands to develop the new city of Luxembourg tram line. Our mission consists, amongst others, to help developing all information and signage related aspects within the project with a strong focus on a user centered design approach.

Our aim is to develop a consistent information design strategy that covers signage and information elements as well as ticketing and real time transport information with their related potential digital applications.

In the competition between cities and even between areas within a city it is difficult for businesses and retailers to attract visitors and to stand out. Although many streets & places have already an identity, their branding potential is often not fully exploited. 

This is where specific interventions can help enhance the perception of a street or an area. These interventions can be a short term event to put a place on the map or long term improvements to the place. The creative tools at hand are wide ranging (lighting, street furniture, graphics, sound, planting, art, ...etc).

In the run-up to any specific proposal it is important to work with local authorities and to involve all stakeholders and users within that area to ensure that the scheme will be a success.
