ABOUT THE EVENT
From 25 September to 4 October 2026, Luxembourg will be the Guest Country of Vienna Design Week, as part of a project jointly led by Kultur | lx and Design Luxembourg.
In addition to the exhibition presented at the festival headquarters, several open calls are available for designers, studios, brands, and creative companies. To encourage strong participation from Luxembourg’s design community, designers and creative professionals based in Luxembourg are invited to submit their applications.
PLATFORM has exceptionally extended its deadline for Luxembourg-based participants until 26 June. The programme offers the opportunity to present exhibitions, pop-ups, or installations at various locations across Vienna. The participation guidelines remain available on the Vienna Design Week website. Applications should be submitted directly to Design Luxembourg and Kultur | lx (contact details below).
FRAKTA – Mehr als eine Tasche, open until 7 June, invites participants to rethink IKEA’s iconic blue bag and explore how design can structure, organise, and enrich everyday life.
The FOKUS – The Essence of Lightness open call has just been published by Vienna Design Week. This exhibition, curated by Connie Hüsser, invites designers to explore lightness as both a design principle and an atmospheric quality. Deadline for applications: 30 June.

For presenting a project through PLATFORM or FOKUS: Support for exhibitors attending trade fairs and trade shows.
For travelling to Vienna and attending the various events organised during Vienna Design Week: Support for prospecting, research and career development.
Deadline for funding applications: 16 July.
