ABOUT THE EVENT
Design Luxembourg and LUCA – Luxembourg Center for Architecture invite you to a visit to the Centre International d’Art Verrier (CIAV) in Meisenthal, Moselle: a unique site where industrial heritage, contemporary architecture and glass design come together.
Join us for an afternoon exploring the site’s iconic architecture, reinterpreted by the New York-based firm SO–IL, visit the workshops where exceptional glassmaking craftsmanship is still practised, and explore the permanent exhibition tracing the history of Meisenthal. Known as the birthplace of Art Nouveau glass and for its tradition of hand-blown glass Christmas ornaments, Meisenthal is also a remarkable example of how industrial heritage can be revitalised to support contemporary creativity.
